Birthday Memories

so my birthday is coming up and its a big one too..im gettin old :(

I think my earliest birthday memory is when i was 10 years old, ok let me say that was my most memorable bday because until then it was always "happy birthday unwritten, heres 50 naira...go and buy biscuit"..not that 50 naira wasnt big money then oo..i would just run to mallam and buy enough okin biscuit and minerals and be feeling like one princess...chai the things that used to satisfy us back then..

but my 10th birthday was nice tho, i think i was in primary 5 or 6 then..you know when its your birthday in primary school then you can wear mufty (regular clothes) or what we used to call "party dress" lol. Momsy had cooked enough jollof rice, chicken,plantain, goat meat to feed the whole school...plus enough crates of mineral from Fanta to Coke to Tandi to Limca ...ahhh enough enjoyment, that day everyone in school wanted to be my friend. When i got to school that day and the driver dropped all the stuff in my class, see as all the teachers just lined up for food...that day it was "unwritten..i didnt know it was ur byday...can i have some chicken please"?...all the food finished and i didn't even eat but it was nice to be the center of attention sha. I think till this day people still talk about that day....im such a legend...hehehe

Thats the only birthday i think i have truly enjoyed...since then its been ahhh just another day...plus celebrating your birthday in yankee costs a pretty penny sometimes, i remember for one of my birthday we went to this japanese hibachi restaurant (you know the ones they cook the food in front of you and the guy does all those tricks with the knife but your thinking if this knife lands on my head..wahala go dey o!)...the food was expensive eh! not to mention drinks...we now went to one jazz lounge and drank there too...i was positively broke after that...

Then my last birthday was horrible...at first i didn't really plan anything..just wanted to chill at home and thank God...enjoy the day sha but my friends kept bugging me that we should do something and i was like no im ok...little did i know that they had planned a surprise party at this lounge for me..and told all our close mutual friends to come...so finally sha they convinced me to go out with them and have some fun...i still had no idea but just so they would free me ..we went out...tell me why on the way to the lounge...there was a huge accident..as in tractor trailer and how many cars collided...so we spent 2 hours in traffic that night, my friends cellphones kept ringing and i was wondering who they were talking to and texting...but in my mind i was like..why the hell did i decide to go out...by the time the traffic cleared it was like 12.30 and the lounge closed at 2...and it was going to take us another good hour to get there...so we decided to go home. On the way home they told me about the surprise and how sorry they were that it didnt work out...i just started crying and thinking "i should have stayed in my bed" lol..

we sha got home and there was a cake on the table with my name on it and some of my friends from the lounge had came to wish me a happy birthday...so it ended kind of ok.

So this year...i am having a small get together, just me and close friends...food, music and good company should be a good time right?....let hope so :)

P.S beginning Ambrosia's detox plan next week...i can like to be skinny biatch too...lol
